Description
Fine Arts Museum with a rich collection of paintings, sculptures and decorative arts. Descendant of a noble family since the 7th century, Ch. de Bruyères bequeathed his house and collections. The museum is an excellent introduction to the discovery of the city whose history is more than a thousand years old: archaeology, sculptures, objects, paintings of canons, abbesses, dukes of Lorraine. The museum also exhibits a Carolingian agate intaglio unique in the world, the largest Art Nouveau collection in the Vosges (glassware, earthenware, furniture, sculptures) including a large number of works by Émile Gallé, collection of old earthenware and Emile Gallé, numerous 17th century Dutch paintings, 17th and 18th century
