REMIREMONT
LA FONTAINE DE LA RUE DE LA XAVEE
Description
The Romarimontans also call it the Workers' Fountain. Built in 1828, it is one of the first fountains in Remiremont. First made of sandstone, it was redone in granite in 1893. The central column was partially destroyed during the fighting for the liberation of Remiremont in September 1944. The fountain was slightly raised and moved in 1987 to be placed in the centre of the roundabout.
