NOTRE DAME DE PLOMBIERES
Description
Our lady of plumbers dominates the station admirably. This statue was erected in 1854 following a wish of the inhabitants who were protected from a cholera epidemic that ravaged the entire region.
On its base we can read Custodem posuerunt me (they chose me as their guardian). Modelled by the Lyon-based Fabish, it is a replica of the virgin Fourvières.
Every year on August 15, a fervent pilgrimage takes place from the church to the illuminated hillside.
Access by foot through the passage of the Virgin (Charles III) or by the Chemin du Ruisseau de la Meule.
