LE MAQUIS DU HAUT DU BOIS

Description

The maquis of the Haut-du-Bois or maquis of Éloyes whose primitive element was born of the refusal of the Labor Service compulsory STO) formed a combat unit within the French Forces of the interior of the Maquis des Vosges . As such, it paid a heavy price for the release of the sector of the Éloyes region. The regular distribution of leaflets and newspapers calling for resistance reinforced the armed actions of the maquisards.
