Description

Following the legend of St. Menne, two religious monuments dedicated to the Blessed were constructed: a chapel (near the village of Puzieux) and an abbey in the village of Poussay.

In this abbey lived Benedictine. It is in the interior of the cloister that the well was built. the twelfth century.

Originally, the well was used only to Benedictine. Then when the abbey was destroyed during the revolution, all the villagers used it to : their consumption, daily use (washing ...), to water animals. In the XVII century, it was covered, to keep his own surroundings. Following the discovery of the source and construction of a fountain, the use of the well stopped.
