L'ÉGLISE ABBATIALE SAINT-PIERRE

Description

The Saint Pierre’s Abbey Church mainly dates back to the XIII century. Inside, the contrast is vivid between the simple architecture of the gothic nave and the richer and more detailed architecture of the Classical choir which houses an altarpiece made in black marble and white limestone. The choir houses one of the treasures of the town: a wooden statue representing a virgin: “Notre Dame du Trésor” that dates back to the XI century. It is also worth visiting the underground church that is rated among the oldest Romanesque religious buildings in the Vosges that houses beautiful XIV and XV century mural paintings.
