ARCHAEOLOGICAL GARDEN OF THE AMPHITHEATRE BATHS
Description
The space between the rampart and the amphitheatre was occupied by a vast public building that could be a thermal ensemble, if we consider the vestiges discovered in the 19th underneath the neighbouring orchards. The excavations conducted between 2010 and 2016 have revealed a gallery leading to these buildings. This gallery is 6m wide and over 40m long and is distinguished by the richness of its decoration in view of the large number of marble fragments and painted coatings found. The square in front of this portico was crossed by an underground pipe that probably connected the spring under the church and the baths that it fed.
A selection of the objects uncovered during these excavations is presented in the Museum of the Mosaic.
